The community included representatives of the municipality, the NGO, the head of the kindergarten and parents of the children. The first meeting was poorly attended by the community primarily because the parents had to take care of their small children. To ensure broader community participation in the second meeting the students organized entertainment for the children, resulting in outstanding community attendance.
The large wooden structure was constructed to shade the children’s seating which was built of used tires. The garden itself is designed around a water feature inspired by traditional Palestinian architecture and is planted with fruit trees indigenous to the area.
ضمّ المجتمع المحلي ممثلين عن السلطة المحلية، والجمعية، ومديرة وطاقم الحضانة، وأولياء أمور الأطفال. ولم يحظَ اللقاء الأول باستجابة كبيرة من جانب السكان، وذلك بصورة أساسية لأن الأهالي اضطرّوا لرعاية أطفالهم الصغار في المنزل. ولضمان مشاركة أوسع في اللقاء الثاني، نظّم الطلاب أنشطة ترفيهية للأطفال، ما ساهم في مشاركة لافتة من جانب أفراد المجتمع.
أُقيم الهيكل الخشبي الكبير لتوفير الظل لمنطقة جلوس الأطفال، التي تم إعدادها باستخدام إطارات مستعملة. أما الحديقة نفسها فصُمّمت حول عنصر مائي مستوحى من العمارة الفلسطينية التقليدية، وزُرعت فيها أشجار فاكهة تُعدّ من الأنواع الشائعة في المنطقة.
הקהילה כללה נציגים של הרשות המקומית, העמותה, מנהלת וצוות הגן והורי הילדים. המפגש הראשון לא זכה להיענות רבה מצד הקהילה, בעיקר משום שההורים נאלצו לטפל בילדיהם הקטנים בבית. כדי להבטיח השתתפות רחבה יותר במפגש השני, ארגנו הסטודנטים פעילויות בידור לילדים, מה שהביא להשתתפות מרשימה של הקהילה.
המבנה הגדול מעץ נבנה כדי לספק צל לאזור הישיבה של הילדים, אשר נבנה מצמיגים משומשים. הגינה עצמה תוכננה סביב אלמנט מים בהשראת אדריכלות פלסטינית מסורתית, ונשתלו בה עצים פרי האופייניים לאזור.
